Who’s up for some funk?

Not just any funk. The good stuff. The forty-thousand-year-old funk.

Bring one of the most influential albums of all time to life. Right on your stage.

The Pocket Kings are a crack unit of elite musicians trained in the fine art of igniting guerrilla dance parties and whipping crowds into a groove-inspired frenzy. Collectively, we've played all over Wisconsin and beyond at events like Waterfest, Wisconsin Funk Fest, and the Oshkosh Main Street Music Festival. Lots of fests. We've opened for well-known acts like Tower of Power and Gregg Rolie (from Santana and Journey). Also Loverboy. I know. We thought that one was weird, too. Some people even feel compelled to give us awards—like the 2023 WAMI for Best R&B/Funk Band.

Anyway, the point is that we know how to put on a show. And when it comes to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” we’ve gone the extra mile to faithfully recreate the magic of every one of its amazing nine tracks.

You know what they say - the proof is in the pudding.

Well, here’s a healthy serving for your eyes and ears.

Big album. Big band.

The band consists of Greg McMonagle (vocals), Lexie Lakmann (vocals), Kelvin Kaspar (guitar), Mike Malone (drums), Matt Vanderlinden (bass), Sam Lakmann (keyboards), Eric Koppa (saxophone), and Kurt Shipe (trumpet). For “Thriller,” we might even bring another vocalist and a percussionist. Maybe even another guitarist to help cover Eddie Van Halen’s parts. He plays a lot of notes, after all.

See us live.

Let’s do this.

While “Thriller” isn’t a Halloween album per se, it’s definitely become closely associated with the holiday. So what do you say? Let’s give your audience something special to do this year. No tricks, all treats. We promise. — The Pocket Kings
